Whitechapel, Brick Lane and Aldgate
E1 has the cluster: late-night doner and grill counters on Whitechapel Road, meze and grill restaurants around Brick Lane, and the City-facing restaurants near Aldgate. It is busy, competitive and open late, and the hygiene record is reasonable.
Canary Wharf and the Isle of Dogs
E14 has a second group aimed at office workers: polished lunch and after-work Turkish restaurants in and around the Wharf, quiet at weekends.
Bow, Mile End and Bethnal Green
E3 and E2 have a handful each, mostly takeaways and small grills on Roman Road and Bethnal Green Road. This is where the borough's residents actually live, and the supply is thin.

A family Turkish restaurant in Bow, Mile End or on the Isle of Dogs would serve a neighbourhood that currently travels to Whitechapel or Dalston. Ratings in the borough average only 4.28, the lowest in inner London, so there is room to be better as well as closer.
