City centre
The centre's Turkish restaurants are grouped around Briggate, the Merrion Centre and the Northern Quarter of Leeds, serving the office and nightlife trade: a couple of grills, meze restaurants, and the late-night doner counters on the way to the station. Quality is decent and prices are city-centre.
Hyde Park and Headingley
LS6 is the student belt, and its Turkish food is cheap grill, doner and lahmacun served late. Headingley's Otley Road has the more established places, some of which have been there for decades and run real charcoal.
Chapel Allerton and Roundhay
The northern suburbs along Harrogate Road and Street Lane have a scattering of family Turkish restaurants that draw a loyal weekend trade. These are the kitchens to try for a proper mixed grill and a Sunday breakfast.
The gap: north Leeds and the commuter towns
Roundhay, Moortown, Alwoodley and out to Horsforth and Wetherby have consistent search demand and one or two options at most. Morley and the south are similar. Leeds is the strongest opening in Yorkshire for a sit-down Turkish restaurant outside the centre.
